Helping women conquer auto care intimidation

I’m excited to offer our first ever Knowledge Is Power car-care clinic designed to help women gain confidence in taking charge of their vehicle service needs.

CAS Knowledge is Power Seminar

Join us on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clovis Auto Shop located in Old Town Clovis. As part of the ACDelco Knowledge Is Power program, this hands-on clinic is designed to help women learn how to sense potential problems under the hood, communicate effectively with the service consultant and avoid feeling taken advantage of.

In this hands-on clinic, you can also expect to learn:

  • How to identify signs that your vehicle needs to be repaired or serviced.
  • What to know when you bring your vehicle in for repair.
  • How to properly care for tires.
  • Useful information about major car parts and services like brakes, alignments, oil changes, batteries, and wheel balancing.
  • How to save money on your car repairs.
  • How to safely install your spare tire.
  • And more!

Check-in is from 6 to 6:15 p.m. Attendees will receive refreshments, a FREE auto inspection, door prizes and a chance to win a roadside emergency kit.

The vehicle inspection process at our shop:

Our vehicle inspections are like health ratings – rating the overall condition of your vehicle as good, fair or poor. We check everything from warning lights and wiper blades to the air filter, battery strength, tire pressure and tread – to the condition of hoses, belts and fluids – rating each item separately and giving you a print-out that includes findings, recommendations and even photographs of the broken or worn items found in need of care. Our findings are also real-time reports – sent directly to you via email or text during our inspection. And we will never fix or replace an item without your approval. Clinic attendees will go through the inspection process and walk-away with a print-out of their vehicle’s condition.

Why are we doing this?

Most women feel intimidated about vehicle maintenance, and we want to help. Our clinic will provide a fun environment and valuable information that will empower you or the women in your life to discuss and tackle vehicle repairs and service. A well-maintained vehicle is safer – more dependable. Nobody wants to be stranded on the side of road and we don’t want any woman to compromise their safety because they fear the service experience.

Please join me and my service manager, Vincent Ceballos, along with representatives from local auto parts distributor Smith Auto and global parts leader ACDelco for this empowering event. Limited seating is available and registration is required no later than Wednesday, Oct. 7.

For more information or to register, please contact Jaime Fowler at 559-321-8766 during our normal business hours or register on line.

And watch for our upcoming event Breaks for Breasts. We’ll be giving our customers free brake pads with service and donating 10% of the service fee to support breast cancer research. October is going to be a great month dedicated to women!
