Summary: Must be willing to learn from others as well as follow written and verbal procedures. Must be willing to clean and maintain grounds, work areas and shop equipment.
Qualifications: Must be able to clearly demonstrate their physical and mental ability to perform services as well as detailed minor repairs. Must conduct every aspect of their job in an ethical manner. Ability to explain the work needed to the service advisor and to work well under pressure.
Must meet or exceed the standards set by the industry-recognized trade organizations.
Apprentice Technicians must be ASE Certified within two years of being hired and must complete master certification within four years of being hired.
All technicians must be able to work and produce a minimum of 40 hours per week on a regular basis.
Area of Responsibility: Must follow company policies and procedures outlined in employee handbook and in task-specific procedures. Must also be dedicated to company mission, company profitability and to 100% customer satisfaction.
Must work well with others as a team toward a common goal. Apprentice technician will have all work checked by a lead technician, service advisor, or manager before being turned in as completed. Must commit to continuously educate through industry-recognized classes, seminars, and tests to keep up with changes in the industry and new vehicles.
Physical/Working Conditions: Essential job functions require heavy lifting and performing tasks that may require uncomfortable positions. The noise level may get moderately loud and the tasks involved include working with grease and dirt. Individual must be able to get up from a sitting or lying down position with ease. Repair shop is well-ventilated and well-lit however building can reach uncomfortable temperatures.
